Transportation to Airport from Los Angeles City Center

Citicorp Airport

The most practical transportation alternative to get to Los Angeles International airport from the city center is by using the FlyAway buses. These buses depart from Union Station and get to the airport in about 40 minutes. When there is traffic or during rush hour that travel time can vary significantly. FlyAway buses depart every 30 minutes and you don’t need to reserve a spot beforehand. We recommend checking the traffic conditions and figuring out what time you need to be at the airport beforehand.

The FlyAway buses operate between the following locations and the airport, Van Nuys (San Fernando Valley) Union Station (Downtown Los Angeles), Westwood (West Los Angeles/UCLA), Santa Monica, Hollywood, Orange Line, and Long Beach. Separate buses depart from these locations to the airport. You can buy your bus ticket on board using a credit card.

Passengers can also take the Green Line to the airport, which stops at the metro Green Line Aviation Station. From that station there are free shuttle bus services to the airport. The Green Line operates between Redondo Beach and Norwalk. After you get to the Green Line Aviation Station you can get on the LAX Shuttle “G” line, which will take you to the terminals.  

There are various buses that you can take from different locations in the city to get to Los Angeles International Airport. This terminal also has many boutiques such as Burberry, DFS Duty Free, Gucci, Hermes, Michael Kors, Emporio Armani, and Victoria’s Secret. The terminal also contains many Duty Free shops. The Tom Bradley International Terminal is the terminal that features the widest variety of restaurants, cafes, bars, and stores. It is also the terminal that contains the most lounges. Transportation to Toronto City Center from Airport

Billy Bishop - Toronto Island Airport

Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is located on the Toronto Islands in Toronto. The airport is a small international airport that doesn’t handle as many passengers as Toronto Pearson International Airport, nor is it as large yet it is an important airport for the country. Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is used for general aviation and regional services operated by turboprop planes. Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is in very close proximity to downtown Toronto, therefore transportation to the city center from the airport is quite easy.

Pedestrian

A very interesting aspect of Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is that it is features a pedestrian tunnel that connects the airport to the mainland. The pedestrian tunnel opened in 2015 and provides direct access to the mainland from the airport. The tunnel provides access to the mainland pavilion, east of the airport’s ferry terminal. The total time to walk the distance from the airport to the mainland using the tunnel is about 6 minutes.

Ferry

Passengers can also get to the mainland by ferry. Since the distance between the airport and the mainland is so close these ferries operate on the shortest ferry route in the world. The ferry station is located on Bathurst Street (which is also a metro stop, Bathurst Station) and runs every 15 minutes. The ferry is free for pedestrians and $11 for vehicles.

Rental Car

Passengers can get to the city center from the airport by using GO Transit buses that provide transportation to Union Station. Renting a car is another viable option to get to downtown Toronto from Hamilton International. Due to the airport’s distance from the city center, taking a taxi would not be the best transportation alternative.


Lester B. Pearson Intl. - Toronto Pearson Intl. Airport

Toronto Pearson International Airport is actually located outside of the Toronto city limits. The airport is located 22.5 km from downtown Toronto. This international airport is located in Mississauga with a portion of it extending into the Etobicoke district. Toronto Pearson International Airport is Canada’s biggest and busiest airport. You can get to the city center from the airport by train, shuttles, taxis, and rental cars.

Train

Taking the train from Toronto Pearson International Airport to downtown Toronto is a very convenient transportation alternative. There is a train line that runs directly from Toronto Pearson International Airport to Union Station downtown. The train from the airport to downtown takes about 25 minutes and trains run every 15 minutes. However, this train line to the city is more expensive than other public transportation alternatives. The UP Express (Union Pearson Express) departs from the Toronto Pearson Terminal 1 Station.

Bus

GO Transit is a bus service that provides transportation from Toronto Pearson International Airport to North York, Hamilton, Oakville, and Mississauga. GO bus routes run hourly, every day of the week and every 30 minutes during rush hour on weekdays. The GO bus terminals and routes you can take to get to the city center from Toronto Pearson International Airport vary depending on your destination in the city. The 192 Airport Rocket, operated by the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) also provides transportation directly from Toronto Pearson International Airport to the city. The 192 Airport Rocket departs from Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. This express service provides transportation between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Kipling Station (Bloor-Danforth Subway Line). This bus operates every day of the week and runs every 10 minutes. This express service takes about 25 minutes to get to the city. The TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) also operates other bus routes that provide direct transportation from Toronto Pearson International Airport to various stations in the city but they make other stops along the way. Metro

The fastest and most practical means of public transportation in the city is the metro. The metro provides access to central locations in the city. The metro runs every 2-5 minutes and contains 4 separate lines. The first stop on the Bloor-Danforth line, heading west, is the Kipling Station. The 192 Airport Rocket bus route, operated by the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission), heads to Kipling Station from the airport. From Kipling Station passengers can easily access other metro stations in the city.

Metro Line 1 (the yellow line), the Yonge-University Line runs a U-shaped route. The north-south line operates between Yonge Street, Finch Avenue East, Union Station, Allen Road, and Sheppard Avenue West. From the Bloor-Yonge, St. George, and Spadina stations travelers can transfer to the Sheppard-Yonge Station on Metro Line 2.

Metro Line 2 (the green line), the Bloor-Danforth Line travels between Bloor Street West, Bloor Street East and Danforth Avenue in the east-west direction. Travelers can transfer to Metro Line 1 from the Bloor-Yonge, St George and Spadina stations and to Metro Line 3 from the Kennedy station.

Metro Line 3 (the blue line), the Scarborough Line travels between Eglinton Avenue East and Kennedy Road stations. Travelers can transfer to Metro Line 2 from Kennedy Station.

Taxis are equipped with credit card technology so passengers can pay using cash or credit. Taxis are easily accessible from the arrivals level of the terminals.
