About Luhansk
Luhansk is a city located in the west of Ukraine. With a population of about half a million, this city is located between mountains with a natural view isn’t really considered as a touristic place. There are ruined areas because of the effects of the war between Russia and Ukraine. Because of the ongoing war, this area isn’t considered a safe place to travel. The city is struggling to break away from Ukraine and declare its independence. Along the coast of the Lugan River, Leninski Square is an old settlement. A little farther from the city center, close to the river, a new square settlement has begun to be built. Places to see in the city are the Pele Museum, Vladimir Dale Museum, the Stone Sculptures Park with sculptures from the 11h century, Prince Igor Monument, St. Vladimir Cathedral, St. Peter and St. Paul Cathedrals, and Luhansk Police Museum.
With a continental climate, summer months in Luhansk are hot and winter months are cold. Luhansk Airport is an airport that holds a limited number of flights. You must also take into consideration that, sometimes flights may be canceled because of the ongoing conflicts in the country. The airport is south to the city center and is in an area 16 km away. There are buses that leave from the airport to the city however since their hours are spread apart, you may need to wait for the bus. You can also walk a little out of the airport and get on the minibuses known as matryoshkas.

Lugansk city is located in the eastern part of Ukraine, on the Russian border. Because the city center is a short distance (19 km) from Lugansk Airport, you can easily travel between the city and the terminal, although there is not much alternative in terms of transportation facilities.

Renovated in the last few years Lugansk International Airport is one of the best designed airports of Ukraine. The airport has a total of two floors. There is a cafe where you can spend time, TVs where you can watch local news, ticket offices where you can by airline tickets to Kiev and Moscow, ATM machines, and a VIP area where you can relax while waiting for your flight time.
