About Mosul

Located in the northern part of Iraq, Mosul has a population of about 2.5 million. Located about 400 kilometers from the capital Baghdad, the city is located along the banks of the Tigris River. Mosul, which has a semi-arid climate, has a particularly high temperature especially during the summer months. The temperature in June, July, August and September exceeds 40 degrees Celsius. The coldest month is January: the average temperature in this month is around 2 degrees Celsius, but in the evening it is below zero and it is quite cold.

Mosul is very rich in terms of historical buildings. It has many different structures in terms of historical mosques, castles, churches and schools; Umeyye Mosque, Al-Habda named brick minaret are some of these.
