About Vidin
Vidin, located on the banks of the Danube River in the north-western part of Bulgaria, has a population of approximately 47,000 people according to 2011 Census data. Vidin city, which was an administrative and economic center in Bulgaria's past, is now an agricultural and commercial center and an efficient seaside region famous for its wines. The new European Bridge in the city was completed in 2013 and connects the town of Vidin to the Romanian town of Calafat. In this city, where a humid subtropical climate is experienced, the average temperature value during the year is about 12C. While the vast majority of the city's population is made up of Bulgarians, Roma, Turks and other groups are also present. Orthodox churches are also included in the city where many castles remained from the Middle Ages. In addition, visitors can see is Osman Pazvantoğlu Mosque and Vidin Synagogue.
