It is incredibly easy to get to Bergen Airport from any point in Bergen, especially from the center of the city, which has a wide public transportation network. Among the means of transportation you can go to the airport directly without needing to transfer are suburban trains, trams, buses and taxis.

Train

The main train and bus stations in Bergen, which are located at walking distance from the city center of Bergen, are very close. From the train station in central Bergen you can take suburban trains that go directly to Bergen Airport. These trains also provide connection to Arna, Voss, Myrdal Flam.

There is only one suburban train line serving in Bergen city. Bergen Airport is among the stops on this line. Going to the airport in 15-20 minutes with the suburban train from the train station in the city will save you time.

Bus

Bergen city buses are managed by Skyss company and there is a common ticketing system operated by this company. This ticket system covers all public transportation in Bergen. If you reserve your seat from the website of Tide Buss (www.tide.no), the local city buses, you can travel at much more reasonable prices. The express buses of Tide Buss provide a very fast access between the terminals.

Single use Skyss bus tickets cost 67 Norwegian krone for adults. A daily ticket costs 95 krone, 7-day ticket cost 335 krone, while tickets that can be used ten times cost 555 krone. It is very simple to get Skyss bus tickets from ticket sales points in the city center, from ticket vending machines or from internet. You can also get your ticket via your smart phone if you download the “Skyss Billett” application.

Buses going to the airport, named as Airport Bus, depart from the Radisson Blu Hotel, fish market and Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in the city center and go directly to Bergen Airport. The first ride of the buses departing every 10 minutes on weekdays is at 06:50 in the morning. After midnight, you are likely to reach the airport quickly thanks to the airport bus that departs at 01:00, 02:00 and 03:00.

These buses depart on frequent intervals on Saturdays and Sundays also. The buses depart from the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel and Bryggen (the first stop in the city center). If you want to go to Bergen airport with the airport bus you need to pay 100 Norwegian krone as the most current fare. The round-trip ticket costs 170 krone. You can go directly to the airport taking the Stromgaten bus number 8, which is departing 5 times in an hour from the city center. The buses depending on a special transport system called Light Rail also go to the airport departing from train station and the bus station every day from 06:00 to 01:00 every 10 minutes. You have to purchase your tickets from the station or ticket vending machines.

Taxi

Bergen taxis, unlike usual, are ultra-luxury as the vehicles are from famous brands like Audi, Mercedes, Volvo, BMW, Volkswagen. You can pay by credit card in almost all taxis. Bergen taxis are both reliable and fast, although expensive, and they all serve with taximeters. It is possible that you will encounter a lot of taxis outside the city bus and train stations, especially in the Bryggen area.

Car Rental

If you are planning to stay longer than a few days in Bergen then the best and most profitable option for you is to rent a car. It is very convenient to rent a car because the city roads are well maintained and the traffic is not heavy. Europcar, Hertz, Sixt, Thriftiy, as well as domestic brands serve you in the city. All you have to do is make a pre-booking before you come to Bergen. It will take 25-30 minutes to get to the airport from Bergen with the car you rent.

Airport Information

Bergen Airport, also known as Flesland, is 19 kilometers south of Bergen city center. Like other international airports, Bergen Airport offers many possibilities to its passengers. These include free internet access, cafés, restaurants and bars, shopping malls, duty free shops, grocery stores, souvenir shops, resting and smoking areas, tourist information offices and information desks about public transportation.

Costa Brava Airport, which is among the airports having the highest capacity of passengers in Spain and ranked the second in Barcelona with its size and traffic, is only 12.5 kilometers away from Girona city center. You can cover that distance in 20 minutes with a normal driving. There are flights from Istanbul, Antalya, Izmir, and Adana (by Turkish Airlines) to the airport. Once you get off the plane, you won't have any difficulty reaching Girona city center. Regular bus services, taxis, car rental and private transfer services are among the transportation alternatives you can prefer to reach the city center from the airport.

Bus

You can go to the city center from Costa Brava Airport by bus, one of the most affordable means of transportation. The public transport network in the city is organized by a company called Sagales and you can find the schedule of bus departures on the company's website (sagales.com).

The bus route 605 starts from Blanes, picks up passengers from  Lloret de Mar and then Costa Brava Airport, and ends in Girona. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the city center from the airport.

L-28 line is also one of the buses you can prefer for transfer between the airport and the city center. It departs from Lieida and goes through C25 Highway to reach Girona. The bus ride approximately takes 15 minutes.

Another bus alternative to get to the city center is the line 607 and it also stops by Riudellots. Let us remind you that the bus operates on weekdays between 5 am and 11 pm.

There are transfer services to reach the city center every 25 minutes and by the hour. You can take a bus in front of the airport terminal, which is in a 5-minute walking distance when you get off the plane. The last stop is the city center and you get off the bus at Girona Bus Station (Estació D'Autobusos De Girona). Every bus stop has a route schedule and you can plan your journey according to the departures.

Each single fare from Costa Brava Airport to Girona city center costs 2.75 Euros. No online sale of tickects is available, nor is there any possibility of buying one on the bus. You can buy bus tickets at the ticket sales office of the airport which opens at 8am (and operating until 2am on the next day) every day of the week.

Taxi

Taxi, which is the fastest, busiest and most practical transfer option, runs on day-rate and night-tariff just like in Turkey. Taximeter is available in all taxis at the airport and the taxi ride takes about 20 minutes to get to the city center. The taxi fare for transfer to Girona city center costs about 25-30 Euros.

Taxi stops at the airport are in front of the gate of the incoming passenger terminal. These stops immediately catch your eyes with their blue and white taxi signs and yellow "taxi" writings on the road. If you cannot find a taxi at this area, you can dial the taxi numbers hung on the wall through the free-of-charge phone next to the information desk inside the terminal.

Rent a car

You will find the offices of the international car rental companies such as Hertz, Dollar, Firefly, and Thrifty on the ground floor of the airport. You can also enjoy pre-booking option making a reservation through the websites of these companies offering you rental car options with high standards. You can determine the route to the city center through navigation, or you can get help from the route signs on the road if you are not provided with such an option.

Once you leave the airport and take the AP7 highway, the road takes you to Girona city center.
