Transportation to Airport from Boston City Center

Logan Intl. Airport

The city of Boston, renowned for being home to Harvard University, the University of Massachusetts, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and world famous health care institutions, welcomes thousands of patients, researchers, and students from all over the world. The only international airport in the city is the General Edward Lawrence Logan International Airport, also referred to as Logan International Airport. The airport is located 5.6 km from the city center and is accessible by ferry as a transportation alternative.

Airport Buses

The Silver Line 1 bus service provides transportation to Logan International Airport from the city center. This service departs from the South Station, which is located in the city center, in close proximity to many museums and the Boston Public Garden and Theater District. The SL1 line provides free transportation to the airport. Buses 459 and 449, which pass by the Summer St. stop, close to the Congress Bridge, also provide transportation to the airport. It takes a maximum of 20 minutes to get to the airport using buses 449 and 459.

Rail

Harvard University, the city center, and Cambridge are located along the Red Line, which runs from the north of the city to the south of the city. You can use this line to transfer to a bus to the airport. You can transfer to the SL1 bus at the South Station or transfer to bus 171 at Andrew Station. You can also take the Blue Line, which can be accessed from State Street Station, to the Airport Station. The Airport Station is located in close proximity to the airport. From that station you have to transfer to airport shuttle services to get to the airport terminals.

Ferry

Another transportation alternative to get to the airport is by ferry. The dock is a 10 minute walk from the city center. The ferry takes 18 minutes to get to Logan Wharf. From there the Massport Route 66 provides shuttle services to the airport terminals.

Taxi

Taxis are easy to find anywhere in the city and they are a convenient transportation alternative to get to the airport. Since the airport is located in such close proximity to the city center, about 5 km away, it is also considerably close to other important parts of the city like Harvard University, MIT, and the University of Massachusetts.

Car

The city center can be confusing to navigate but there are two tunnels that run under the Boston Canal, making the airport easily accessible by car. One of these tunnels is closer to the city center and is where the SL1 buses connect to the Red Line. To connect to this tunnel, which is located to the east of canal, take Summer Street, to Congress Bridge. After passing the bridge you can access the tunnel from Congress Street. The other tunnel is accessible by taking Merrimac Street north to New Chardon Street, which is on the right. This road will pass by Haymarket Square and take you directly to the west tunnel. This tunnel connects you to George Visconti Road, which provides direct access to the airport.

Handling more than 30 million passengers a year, Logan International Airport is one of the most important airports in the East of the United States. The airport contains a variety of services from children’s play areas to exhibition grounds, a September 11th memorial and recreation areas.

Changi Airport has an important role in air traffic to Singapore. There are a variety of transportation options you can use to get to the city center from Changi Airport. You can get to the city center from Changi Airport, located in the eastern part of Singapore, by taxi, bus, train, limousine, and rental cars.

Taxi

Taxis are available in the terminal building at the airport the moment you land. Taxis are a fast and easy way to get to the city center from the airport. Taxis from the airport to the city center take about 30 minutes. Regular taxis operate every day of the week from 6 am to 9:30 pm. There are taxis that are one service level higher than regular taxis and these taxis are at your service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Bus

Buses are a more affordable transportation option to get to the city center. Buses are accessible from Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3. You can get on these buses from the terminal buildings. The bus takes about 1 hour to get to the city center. Buses run from 6 am to midnight and are an economical and easy way to get to the city from the airport.

Train

Taking the train, which you can access from Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, is another transportation alternative to get to the city center. To get to the city center from the airport by train you have to switch lines at Tanah Merah Station. The last train from Changi Airport Station to Tanah Merah Station departs at 11:18 pm.  

Limousine and Large Taxi

There are also limousine and large taxi services that you can take advantage of. These services provide comfortable transportation to the city center from the airport and were intended for large groups. You can use this service 24 hours a day by going to the Transportation Desk in the main terminal building.

Rental Car

Another way to get to the city center from Changi Airport is by rental car. You can rent a car from various rental car offices located in Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3. Rental car companies who have offices in the airport include Avis, Budget, and Hertz. Renting a car provides a quick and easy ride to the city center.


Seletar Airport

Seletar Airport was built in 1929 as a military base and is located in the Seletar region, in the northeast of Singapore. The airport is currently managed by the Changi Airport Group and operates as general aviation airport. There are a variety of transportation options to get to the city center from the airport. The most convenient method of transportation is by taxi. Other ways to get to the city center from the airport are by bus and car.

Taxis at the airport are at your disposal 24 hours a day, waiting for passengers outside of the airport’s main terminal building. These licensed taxis are available the moment you land, providing comfortable transportation to the city center. The taxi fare is calculated based on the kilometers traveled. Taxis are a bit costly but they are faster and more comfortable than taking a bus, so they are among the most preferred option.

Bus

Another transportation alternative that you can use to get to the city center is by bus. Buses are a more economical option. The stop for bus line 103 is located right across from the airport. Passengers can get on bus line 103 and travel between MRT-Serangoon Station and Serangoon Bus Station.

Rental Car

By renting a car at the rental car offices located at the airport you can enjoy a comfortable and quick ride to the city center. Renting a car is a convenient way to get to the city. You can drop your car off at one of the rental car offices located in the city center.
