Although it is a great merit to use private vehicles in Cairo, which is similar to Istanbul with regards to its traffic and size, there may be people who want to reach the airport by private vehicles. To do this, you have to follow the Oroba road, in the east direction, to go to the airport from Zamalek island and Tahrir in the city center.

Oroba route will take you to Airport Road, which will provide you with access to the airport, after 17 kilometers.

Taxi

You can take taxis to easily transfer to the city center, which is approximately 7 kilometers from the airport. You can take taxis in front of the terminals and you can go to the city center or centers in the periphery of Alexandroupoli in approximately 10 minutes. You can pay the fares in the country’s currency, Euro, but there is a chance of drivers accepting other currencies such as US Dollars if you inform them before your drive.

Bus

If you are looking for a more affordable transportation method from the airport to the city center, you can check the bus options that the departures are in front of the airport. Although the bus is cheaper than taxis and rental cars, you should keep in mind that the transportation time is more likely to be longer, as with busses from the airport to the city center is approximately 30 minutes. When you reach the city center, you can continue with busses or you can get a cab as well.
