Airport Transfer

Public Transport

It will be possible to reach the airport with the subway lines passing through Zamalek, Wasat Al-Balad and the Nile's eastern region, which we refer to as the center of Cairo, in a few years, but you can only reach the areas close by at the moment. Al Dock, Opera, Sedat (Tahrir) and Naguib are the metro stations close to the center.

You need to transfer to the Green Line at Attaba station from Yellow Line, which hosts the above mentioned stations.

Even if it does not reach the airport yet, you can get off at the Abbasiye station and complete the 15 kilometers distance by taxi or bus number 111. It is also possible to reach the airport by buses 27, 111, 356 from Tahrir Square where Sedat metro station is located.

Private Vehicle

Although it is a great merit to use private vehicles in Cairo, which is similar to Istanbul with regards to its traffic and size, there may be people who want to reach the airport by private vehicles. To do this, you have to follow the Oroba road, in the east direction, to go to the airport from Zamalek island and Tahrir in the city center.

Oroba route will take you to Airport Road, which will provide you with access to the airport, after 17 kilometers.

The airport, in the Heliopolis area, is the second airport in Africa with regards to passenger traffic. With the completion of the newly constructed terminals, there are also many possibilities offered for those waiting for their flight.

Train

You can walk about 20 minutes to use the trains which are the only public transportation vehicles going to the center from the airport or you can reach Staad Train Station in 5 minutes by taxi. The train route S2 carries passengers to the center from 05:00 am to 00:30 am. The trains depart every hour. It takes about 25 minutes to reach Saint Gallen station by train.
