Airport Transfer

Al Dock, Opera, Sedat (Tahrir) and Naguib are the metro stations close to the center.

You need to transfer to the Green Line at Attaba station from Yellow Line, which hosts the above mentioned stations.

Even if it does not reach the airport yet, you can get off at the Abbasiye station and complete the 15 kilometers distance by taxi or bus number 111. It is also possible to reach the airport by buses 27, 111, 356 from Tahrir Square where Sedat metro station is located.

Private Vehicle

Although it is a great merit to use private vehicles in Cairo, which is similar to Istanbul with regards to its traffic and size, there may be people who want to reach the airport by private vehicles. To do this, you have to follow the Oroba road, in the east direction, to go to the airport from Zamalek island and Tahrir in the city center.

Oroba route will take you to Airport Road, which will provide you with access to the airport, after 17 kilometers.

Airport Information

The airport, in the Heliopolis area, is the second airport in Africa with regards to passenger traffic. With the completion of the newly constructed terminals, there are also many possibilities offered for those waiting for their flight.

Buses from Ivato Airport to Antananarivo are the only means of public transportation available. There are also additional taxi, shuttle and car rental alternatives. Bus

If you want to use public transport to go directly from Ivato Airport to Antananarivo, you should go to the bus stops at the exit of the terminal. The city buses operated by the ADEMA Company provide the most reliable transportation between the airport and Antananarivo city center. Busses, which are usually scheduled according to the flight times, have frequent intervals throughout the day. It takes about 30-35 minutes to get to the city from Antananarivo airport by bus. You do not require any pre-booking while purchasing your ticket. The buses stop at many known hotels. You must pay 10,000 Madagascar Ariary for the bus ticket according to the prices of 2016.

Taxi

The most practical and quick way to get to Antananarivo city center from Ivato Airport is to use taxis. You can easily see the taxi stops when you leave the terminal. From the airport you can reach Antananarivo city center in 20 minutes by taxi. The fare you will be charged for this journey is 4-6 Euros ($ 2) on average. If you will be travelling at night, you would be prepared to pay a little more.

Car Rental

It is a good idea to do a preliminary research about the domestic and foreign car rental companies at the airport terminal to go to Antananarivo city center from Ivato Airport by your own vehicle. By reserving in advance, you can rent a car at more reasonable prices. It is possible to reach the city center of Antananarivo in about 20 minutes by a car that you rent with your international driving license.
