There are different options to reach the airport from the city center in Cairo, visited by many tourists every year. The services that the hotels usually offer or arrange for you and public transport are the first ones that come to mind.

Airport Transfer

Transfer vehicles that are privately rented from Cairo International Airport and shuttles of the Cairo Airport Shuttle Bus company will pick you up at your requested destination upon your telephone and internet reservation. You can reach the airport from any point of the city by using the shuttles, whose fares are changing according to the region you take it.  

Airport transfers also include London-style taxis, limousines and luxurious midibuses. All you have to do is to make reservations and be at the place where you want the cars to pick you up.

Public Transport

It will be possible to reach the airport with the subway lines passing through Zamalek, Wasat Al-Balad and the Nile's eastern region, which we refer to as the center of Cairo, in a few years, but you can only reach the areas close by at the moment. Al Dock, Opera, Sedat (Tahrir) and Naguib are the metro stations close to the center.

You need to transfer to the Green Line at Attaba station from Yellow Line, which hosts the above mentioned stations.

Even if it does not reach the airport yet, you can get off at the Abbasiye station and complete the 15 kilometers distance by taxi or bus number 111. It is also possible to reach the airport by buses 27, 111, 356 from Tahrir Square where Sedat metro station is located.

Private Vehicle

Although it is a great merit to use private vehicles in Cairo, which is similar to Istanbul with regards to its traffic and size, there may be people who want to reach the airport by private vehicles. To do this, you have to follow the Oroba road, in the east direction, to go to the airport from Zamalek island and Tahrir in the city center.

Oroba route will take you to Airport Road, which will provide you with access to the airport, after 17 kilometers.

Airport Information

The airport, in the Heliopolis area, is the second airport in Africa with regards to passenger traffic. With the completion of the newly constructed terminals, there are also many possibilities offered for those waiting for their flight.

Japanese, Chinese and Korean restaurants representing the Asian lifestyle, world famous fast-food restaurants, coffee shops where you can drink the most famous coffees of the world and pizzerias are waiting for guests at Terminal 1. You can also access health services at the airport, which has a large duty free store.

Bus is the only means of transportation that you can use to get to the city, which is 12 kilometers from the airport. You can also get to Constantine city center in about 15-20 minutes by choosing one of the taxi, transfer or car rental services from means of private transportation.

Bus

You can go to the bus stops outside the airport arrival terminal and get information from the ticket offices about which line to use depending on where you are going. Buses with Constantine center-ville signs are departing every 15 minutes and go directly to the city center. The fare you will pay to take this bus is 1 euro by 2017. The duration of the journey is 15 minutes.

Taxi

If you arrive at the airport late at night, it is a good idea to use the 24/7 shuttle to reach Constantine city center quickly. You can see many taxis waiting for customers outside the terminal. All you need to do is check if there is a taximeter. Other than that, you can try to negotiate.

Car Rental

The most practical way of reaching from Constantine Mohamed Boudiaf Airport directly to the city center is undoubtedly car rental. You can choose from local and foreign car rental companies that have a branch at the airport terminal, but it is beneficial to make a pre-reservation before you arrive at the airport. You can also benefit from a variety of discounts on this. You will be picked up from the airport in minutes and you will be able to get to the city center in 22-32 minutes via N79 and in 30-35 minutes via A1 and N3.
