There are different options to reach the airport from the city center in Cairo, visited by many tourists every year. The services that the hotels usually offer or arrange for you and public transport are the first ones that come to mind.

Airport Transfer

Transfer vehicles that are privately rented from Cairo International Airport and shuttles of the Cairo Airport Shuttle Bus company will pick you up at your requested destination upon your telephone and internet reservation. You can reach the airport from any point of the city by using the shuttles, whose fares are changing according to the region you take it.

Public Transport

It will be possible to reach the airport with the subway lines passing through Zamalek, Wasat Al-Balad and the Nile's eastern region, which we refer to as the center of Cairo, in a few years, but you can only reach the areas close by at the moment. Al Dock, Opera, Sedat (Tahrir) and Naguib are the metro stations close to the center.

You need to transfer to the Green Line at Attaba station from Yellow Line, which hosts the above mentioned stations.

Even if it does not reach the airport yet, you can get off at the Abbasiye station and complete the 15 kilometers distance by taxi or bus number 111. It is also possible to reach the airport by buses 27, 111, 356 from Tahrir Square where Sedat metro station is located.

Private Vehicle

Although it is a great merit to use private vehicles in Cairo, which is similar to Istanbul with regards to its traffic and size, there may be people who want to reach the airport by private vehicles. To do this, you have to follow the Oroba road, in the east direction, to go to the airport from Zamalek island and Tahrir in the city center.

Oroba route will take you to Airport Road, which will provide you with access to the airport, after 17 kilometers.

Airport Information

The airport, in the Heliopolis area, is the second airport in Africa with regards to passenger traffic. With the completion of the newly constructed terminals, there are also many possibilities offered for those waiting for their flight.

Japanese, Chinese and Korean restaurants representing the Asian lifestyle, world famous fast-food restaurants, coffee shops where you can drink the most famous coffees of the world and pizzerias are waiting for guests at Terminal 1. You can also access health services at the airport, which has a large duty free store.

There are a few transportation alternatives that you can use for travelling to Iasi city center which is located 8 kilometers of Iasi Airport. One of these alternatives is taxi which offers a fast and practical transportation to the city center. Others are car rental and transfer services. In addition, you can benefit from the transfer services offered by airline companies and hotels. Travelling to Iasi city center from Iasi Airport lasts about 10-12 minutes.

It is very easy to reach Iasi city center by using the airport taxis offering transportation service at any hour of the day. These taxis wait for their passengers in front of the airport terminal. You can reach Iasi city center in about 10 minutes by paying 7-9 Euro for the taxi that you will get on from Iasi Airport.

Car Rental

If you are planning to stay for a long time in Iasi, renting a car may be a more economical and comfortable alternative for you. Car rental companies offering service at the airport are Avis, Sixt, Europcar, Travis, Autoboca and Autonom. You can prefer one of these companies after you make a price comparison and receive your car at the airport in a short time. You can reach Iasi city center in about 10-15 minutes by using the road Strada Moara de Vânt with the car you will rent from Iasi Airport.
