Airport Transfer

Public Transport

It will be possible to reach the airport with the subway lines passing through Zamalek, Wasat Al-Balad and the Nile's eastern region, which we refer to as the center of Cairo, in a few years, but you can only reach the areas close by at the moment. Al Dock, Opera, Sedat (Tahrir) and Naguib are the metro stations close to the center.

You need to transfer to the Green Line at Attaba station from Yellow Line, which hosts the above mentioned stations.

Even if it does not reach the airport yet, you can get off at the Abbasiye station and complete the 15 kilometers distance by taxi or bus number 111. It is also possible to reach the airport by buses 27, 111, 356 from Tahrir Square where Sedat metro station is located.

Private Vehicle

Although it is a great merit to use private vehicles in Cairo, which is similar to Istanbul with regards to its traffic and size, there may be people who want to reach the airport by private vehicles. To do this, you have to follow the Oroba road, in the east direction, to go to the airport from Zamalek island and Tahrir in the city center.

Oroba route will take you to Airport Road, which will provide you with access to the airport, after 17 kilometers.

The airport is located about 30 kilometers east of the city. The town, called Chrysoupolis, is very close to the airport. Bus

You can also prefer to benefit from the buses providing transportation between the airport and the city center. It is very difficult to catch the express bus lines that depart twice a day on weekdays at 06:15 and 18:15 and on Saturdays at 07:10 and 19:15; on Sundays and holidays the express bus line only serves at 19:15. Express buses reach the city center in about half an hour. The buses following the long route do not have regular departure times.

Shuttle Service

You can also benefit from the shuttle services provided by the hotels or some private shuttle companies. You are advised to get information about the shuttle service before deciding on the hotel you are going to stay.

Taxi

Finding a taxi at the airport is easier compared to finding a bus. Compared to European standards, taking a taxi in Kavala is much more affordable. Therefore, taking a taxi is one of the most convenient options you can prefer to reach the city center from the airport.

Rent a car

There are also available car rental companies at the airport. You can travel more practically and comfortably by the car you can rent from these companies. If you prefer, you can also reserve your rental car before your flight.
