There are different options to reach the airport from the city center in Cairo, visited by many tourists every year. The services that the hotels usually offer or arrange for you and public transport are the first ones that come to mind.

Airport Transfer

Transfer vehicles that are privately rented from Cairo International Airport and shuttles of the Cairo Airport Shuttle Bus company will pick you up at your requested destination upon your telephone and internet reservation. You can reach the airport from any point of the city by using the shuttles, whose fares are changing according to the region you take it.  

Airport transfers also include London-style taxis, limousines and luxurious midibuses. All you have to do is to make reservations and be at the place where you want the cars to pick you up.

Public Transport

It will be possible to reach the airport with the subway lines passing through Zamalek, Wasat Al-Balad and the Nile's eastern region, which we refer to as the center of Cairo, in a few years, but you can only reach the areas close by at the moment. Al Dock, Opera, Sedat (Tahrir) and Naguib are the metro stations close to the center.

You need to transfer to the Green Line at Attaba station from Yellow Line, which hosts the above mentioned stations.

Even if it does not reach the airport yet, you can get off at the Abbasiye station and complete the 15 kilometers distance by taxi or bus number 111. It is also possible to reach the airport by buses 27, 111, 356 from Tahrir Square where Sedat metro station is located.

Private Vehicle

Although it is a great merit to use private vehicles in Cairo, which is similar to Istanbul with regards to its traffic and size, there may be people who want to reach the airport by private vehicles. To do this, you have to follow the Oroba road, in the east direction, to go to the airport from Zamalek island and Tahrir in the city center.

Oroba route will take you to Airport Road, which will provide you with access to the airport, after 17 kilometers.

Airport Information

The airport, in the Heliopolis area, is the second airport in Africa with regards to passenger traffic. With the completion of the newly constructed terminals, there are also many possibilities offered for those waiting for their flight.

Chubu Centrair Airport has a rich and diverse range of transportation alternatives. While shuttles, rental cars and taxis provide passengers a special means of transportation, buses and trains allow passengers to safely reach the city center under state control.

Taxi

Vehicles belonging to four different taxi companies (Meitetsu Chita, Anzen, Chita Tsubame, and Shachi Dai-Ichi Kotsu) located opposite the terminal building serve all day. Apart from regular taxis, you can also use the taxis called Noriari Taxi, which take more than one passenger, to travel at a lower cost.

Bus

To travel from Chubu Centrair Airport to the city center by bus, you need to reach the bus terminal on the first floor of Access Plaza. The buses are starting to operate at 8 am. There is no bus service after 10 pm. The last stop of buses departing from the airport is the Meitetsu Railway Station in the city center.

Train

Trains are a quick alternative to get to the city center. However, there are two different train services at the airport. Sky Limited Express offers a faster journey, while Rapid Limited Express reaches Nagoya after a longer ride. Before you get on these trains, you must buy tickets from the booths. Rapid Limited Express is slower, but it is more economical. The departure point of the trains is indicated by the signs at the terminal building.

Shuttle

Those who do not want to travel by bus or train, and crowded groups that do not fit in a single cab, can easily go to the city center or to different parts of the city with shuttles. Shuttles can take up to nine passengers. The shuttles operate 24 hours a day, but you have to pay 20% more while travelling between 10 pm and 5 am. You will have the opportunity to reserve from the internet until 9 pm the day before your travel.

Car Rental

At the airport there are five car rental companies (Toyota, Nippon, Times, Orix, Nissan). You can reserve cars from the internet. The car rental companies meet the demands of passengers on the second floor of the Access Plaza, opposite the terminal building.
