Train

One of the easiest and most practical ways to get to Ingolstadt from Munich Airport is by S-Bahn and ICE trains. However, this transportation alternative requires that you transfer trains in Munich.

First you have to take the S-Bahn commuter train from Munich Airport to the central station in Munich. This train departs every 15 minutes from the station opposite the airport terminal. It takes 40 minutes to get to the central station in Munich. Once you get to the central station you can transfer to a train to Ingolstadt. The train to Ingolstadt runs every hour and takes about 38 minutes.

The train provides convenient transportation to the Ingolstadt central station, which is very close to the city center. There are also Trainline trains that you can take to Ingolstadt, but these trains require at least one transfer.
