Train
It is one of the best alternatives to travel to the airport. The journey takes 30 minutes. There is a point you need to pay attention to when going to the airport. On the way to the airport, the train stops at Ohlsdorf and then only the first 3 carriages continue to the airport, while others carriages continue to the Poppenbuttel suburbs.
Bus
Buses from Hamburg's central bus station are operating in connection with flights. Buses leave from Rathausmarkt which is near the town hall. It provides transportation to the airport. At the last stop, the bus turns back to Rathausmarkt and works all night. It is recommended that you consider this option as well.
Private Vehicle
One of the easiest ways to reach Hamburg airport is by car using the motorway. In Hamburg, it has a very developed motorway network and you can easily travel this way. The airport is connected to the city by the motorways. You can also leave your car in the parking lot with a capacity of 12,000 vehicles.
Airport Information
Hamburg Airport is the 5th busiest airport in Germany. It is also among one of the airports with the most modern architecture. But; because the airport is very close to the city center, night flights are not carried out due to the noise of the aircrafts disturbing the public. For this reason, landings that are past 12 at night are redirected to Hannover Airport. It is recommended to consider this when planning your flights, as you could find yourself at Hannover Airport.
Apart from that, you can benefit from the many amenities available at the airport. From duty free shops to coffee lounges, from restaurants to many famous branded shops, are some of the options among the amenities to choose from. You can spend your time here and you can have a pleasant time.
