Havaş

Havaş shuttles that take off from Çeşme, Alsancak, Karşıyaka-Mavişehir and Kuşadası are the most preferred means of transportation to the airport.

Train

Cafes, bars and restaurants located in the terminal include Cafe İzmir, Cafe Nero, Express-o Busgate, Express-o Hava, Express-o Kara, Gloria Jean's Cafe, Kantin, Ekmekarası Café, Beer Port Bar, Burger King, and Ton-Ton.

In addition, if you want to go shopping you can visit the Old Bazaar, Gift Shops, Desa, Alsancak, Toyzz Shop, D&R, Samsonite, Simpark Tobacco Shop, Duty Free Shop and Setur stores.   

Passengers who want to spend time in the terminal can explore the exhibition at the TAV Gallery in the international departures hall or watch TV and connect to the internet while enjoying food and beverage service at the Comfort Lounge or Millenium Lounge.

There are a variety of transportation alternatives available to get to the city from Saarbrücken Airport. The airport is located 15 km south-east of the city. The most practical and cheapest way to get to the city is by regional city buses. Since the distance between the airport and the city is so short, it takes a maximum of 25 minutes. If you prefer a faster and more convenient method of transportation then you can take a taxi, which provide service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Other transportation alternatives to get to the city from the airport include shuttle services and rental cars.

Bus

There are many different bus lines that provide transportation to the city center from Saarbrücken Airport. Bus line 16 provides transportation from the airport to the railway station that is close to the city center. Bus line 16 runs every 15 to 20 minutes Monday through Friday, taking you directly to the Quai 9 platform of the Gare Centrale main railway station. You can get to Saarbrücken city center within 25 minutes. Since it is a city bus you can purchase the ticket directly from the driver. The latest fare for a one-way ticket was 1.50 euros. Bus 27 also provides transportation between Saarbrücken Airport and Brebach.

If you don’t come across any city buses at the airport then you can use the regional bus R10 to get to the city center. Bus R10 provides direct transportation to the city center from Saarbrücken Airport. Stops along the R10 line’s route are as follows: Blieskostel, Assweiler, Saarbrücken Airport and Saarbrücken. The R10 regional bus runs once per hour and takes about 28 to 30 minutes to get to the city center. The fare for a one-way ticket on the R10 bus is 2.30 euros. You can purchase tickets from the SaarBahn automated ticket machines at the airport or onboard from the driver. There are many different ticket varieties available, including single daily tickets, daily group (5 adults) tickets, weekly tickets, monthly tickets, and yearly tickets.

Taxi

Taxis are a convenient way to get to the city center from the airport. Taxis are readily available at the terminal exit. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to get to the city via taxi and costs about 35 euros. If you plan to take a taxi to the city center from the airport then we recommend using the most popular and reliable taxi companies. Rental Car

There are many well-known international rental car companies, such as Hertz, Europcar, Budget/Avis, and Sixt, at Saarbrücken Airport as well as local German companies. If you want to rent the most suitable vehicle for your budget simply make a reservation in advance and make sure to have an internationally valid driver’s license. After you pick up your vehicle at the airport take the L108 Brebach road to connect to the B406 motorway.

Another option is to use the A6 motorway, which connects Saarbrücken Airport with the city; that will take about 10 minutes. Take Fechingen, located at the airport exit, toward Münheim to connect to the A6 motorway.
