Transportation to Airport from Jinan City Center

Jinan Yaoqiang Intl. Airport

Jinan International Airport is located 33 km northeast of Jinan city center and you can use taxis or car rental services, which are a more practical alternative transportation method, as well as express buses, city buses which are considered the more economical alternative method. To travel by bus it takes a maximum of 1 hour and 15 minutes and to travel by taxi or your rental car it takes an average of 40-45 minutes.

Airport Express Bus

One of the fastest and most practical ways to travel to Jinan Airport directly from the city center is to use the airport express buses. They are much faster than the city buses and they run more frequently, so saves you time. There are three different express buses that you can come across in the city and they depart from different stops: Airport Express 1, Airport Express 2 and Airport Express 3. The number 1 express bus departs from Jinan Train Station Square and Bus Station in the city center and takes around an 1 hour to arrive at the airport. To get on this bus, in 2016 the fare to pay was 20 Chinese Yuan. The number 2 bus runs every 60 minutes and departs from Jinan City Bus Central Station and goes direct to the airport. The fare is still 20 yuan. Finally, the number 3 express bus you must be around Jinan Yuquan Simpson Hotel to get on this bus. It is possible to arrive at Jian Airport in 60 minutes.

City Bus

If you are a little further away from the city center and are looking for the most practical way to travel to the airport, its beneficial to choose the city buses. Just like the express buses, there are 3 different buses that provide direct transportation to Jian Airport and these are from the Dongying, Zibo and Tai An regions. To travel from Dongying you will have to pay around 100 yuan and your journey time will be around 2 hours 40 minutes. If you are travelling from Zibo, your bus ticket should be 55 yuan and to travel from Tai An, your ticket will be 70 yuan.

Taxi

To travel to the airport from Jinan city by taxi, all you have to do is wait in one of the most central points of the city. Taxis wait from time to time at the touristic places in the city and provide a 24/7 transportation service. It costs only 110-140 Chinese Yuan to travel to the airport by taxi from Jinan city. It will take around 25-30 minutes to arrive at Jian Airport.

Originally the airport was named Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport and is located 33 km northeast of Jinan city center, the capital of China's Shandong Province. The airport has two terminals, T1 and T2 and since it has international status, there are many opportunities that you can benefit from. Jinan Airport is the 26th busiest airport in China and is also known as a medium capacity airport. Rail

Suvarnabhumi Airport opened for international commercial flights in 2006. The rail system serves as the main transportation method between the airport, located around 30 km, and the city. The “City Line” is a six-station metro line that connects the airport to downtown Bangkok in 30 minutes. Makkasan Station and Phaya Thai Station are accessible using the Airport Rail Link, which connects you to the MRT and BTS Skytrain.  

Phaya Thai is located about 15 minutes away on foot from the entertainment center of the city, the Phat Pong district. You can also get to the Suhkumvit and Silom districts, where luxury hotels are located, from this station by getting on buses 77 and 163.

Khao San Road, where hostels, cheap accommodation options for backpackers, and entertainment venues are located, is a short distance away; you can take buses 201 and 503 and get there in less than 30 minutes. The metro operates from 6 am to 12 am. The trip ranges between 15 minutes to 30 minutes. The metro is located in Terminal B; there are airport bus services available to get to the metro.

There are two minibus lines that depart from the airport and go to Victory Monument. The 550 line operates within the city and the 551 line is an express line that travels on the motorway. These buses depart from the arrival terminals; the stops are located in between gates 1 and 8. Located next to these minibuses are buses and minibuses that go to important residential and tourist areas in the city. Chief among these is bus line 553, which provides transportation to Samutprakarn Crocodile Farm & Zoo.

Taking a taxi from the airport to the city center or tourist areas in the city takes between 30 and 45 minutes. Taxis are located at the departure terminal at the airport, between gates 4 and 7.
