The most preferred means of transportation in the city center is motorcycle taxis. If you have a small luggage and you are traveling alone, you can take a motorcycle. Normal taxis are another alternative. However, in both cases, remember to negotiate with the driver about the fare beforehand. If you have rented a car during your stay in the city, you can go to the airport on an average of 30 - 40 minutes using the Airport Road or the A2 motorway. Some hotels in Kano also offer extra charged airport shuttle service for their guests.
Aminu Kano International Airport is located approximately 13 kilometers northwest of the city center of Kano. The airport established in 1936 is the oldest airport in the country. Aminu Kano International Airport hosts military as well as civil flights. Duty free shops at the airport, serves passengers with a small café and a VIP lounge, are closed for a while.
Al-Ahsa International Airport, which provides air transportation in Hofuf that is situated at a close location to Qatar, Bahrain, and Dubai in Saudi Arabia, is located 22 kilometers west of the city center. For transportation to the city center, the passengers can benefit from taxis as well as private cars offered by the car rental companies at the airport.

You can get to the city center in half an hour by renting a car from the companies like Avis, Europcar, Sixt, Thrifty, Holiday Autos, Budget, Economy, and EasyCar that provide service with a large fleet at the airport.
