Located about 45 km from the city center, KLIA is accessible by bus, train, taxi, and rental car. Each one of these methods of transportation offer their own advantages and provide passengers with a convenient way to get to the airport.

Taxi

Taxis are available everywhere in the city and provide quick transportation from the city center to KLIA. Although taxis are a bit more expensive the fact that they are one of the fastest ways of getting to the airport makes it cost-effective. Bus

Buses are another method of transportation you can choose to get to KLIA from the city center. Buses are a more affordable option when compared to other transportation alternatives but they are also a slower option.

Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport was the main international airport of Kuala Lumpur, until Kuala Lumpur International Airport was opened. Today Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport serves general aviation and turboprop flights. The airport is used for charter flights and domestic and international turboprop flights. Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport is located about 30 km from the Kuala Lumpur city center.

Taxi

The most common transportation alternative to get to the airport from the city center is by taxi. Taxis might not be the most affordable option but they are the fastest. The total trip from the city center takes about 40 minutes.

Bus

Buses are another way to get to Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport. You can get on a bus in the city center and easily get to the airport. Buses are a more affordable method of transportation compared to other alternatives. However buses are not as fast as taking a taxi or driving yourselves.

The airport features basic services to meet passengers’ needs as well as cafes and eating and drinking venues.
