Rail

Airport Information

Located 12 km from the city center,  Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport, also referred to as Madrid-Barajas Airport, is the main airport in Madrid, serving both international and domestic flights. Madrid-Barajas Airport consists of 4 terminals, Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Terminal 3, and Terminal 4, which was built in 2006. Terminal 4 is the largest terminal in the airport and operates flights for many major airlines such as Turkish Airlines and American Airlines. It is an impressive structure with modern architecture that also features a satellite building, TS4. Terminal 1 is the airport’s oldest building and another major terminal. Many airlines take off and land at Terminal 1. Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 are smaller in comparison to the others. Terminal 3 is dedicated to flights operated by Lagun Air. There is an airport shuttle bus that runs 24 hours a day, providing inter-terminal transportation.

Internet at the airport is free for the first 15 minutes. In Terminal 4 you can connect to the internet by paying a fee. In Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3 you can connect to the internet in the departure lounges, VIP lounges, and restaurant area.

There are various VIP lounges located at the airport. The La Revoltosa and Premium lounges at Terminal 4, La Revoltosa lounge in Terminal 4S, Cibeles lounge in Terminal 1, Puerta de Alcala lounge in Terminal 2, and Puerto del Sol lounge in Terminal 3 are accessible for those with a Priority Pass card. The airport also features various cafes and restaurants that serve delicious examples of international cuisine. 

Pisa, reminiscent of a seaside town, is a decent, bustling and small town, so it is very easy to explore on foot. You can also rent a bike, but you should be aware that the cobblestone streets can be quite crowded. The motorcycle, which is the first to come to mind when thinking about Italy and transportation, is a very convenient vehicle for exploring the city. The main bus stop is located at S. Antonio Square and the buses running between distances are leaving from here. Florence is only 60 kilometers from Pisa. The train is very comfortable and you can go to Florence in a short time. It departs many times during the day. Once you have received your ticket from the train station, you should definitely remember to validate your ticket before you board the train. Frequent checks are made during the travel, and if you are traveling with a non-validated ticket you will receive a penalty of approximately € 40.

Pisa International Airport is just 1 kilometers from the city center. For this reason, it is possible to reach the city center in a very short time. Bus

Taxi

Taxis are waiting for customers in front of the airport arrival terminal exit door. Taxi transportation from the airport to the city center costs between € 6.50 and € 10.00. You can reach the city center and the main train station by taxi in less than 5 minutes. If you are traveling during the weekend, on public holidays or between 22:00 and 06:00, you will be charged an extra 2.50 euros.

Car Rental

At the airport there are offices of some car rental companies. From here you can rent a vehicle that suits your budget comfortably. If you wish, you can make your car ready when you arrive in Pisa by using the internet before your journey. Renting a car to explore the city center can be unnecessary in this small city if you only intend to stay in Pisa. On the other hand, you can go to the surrounding villages and towns with the car you rent and you can reach Florence easily in a short time. You must remember that you must have an international driver's license to be able to rent a car.
