Mexico City International Airport, also known as Benito Juarez International Airport, is located in close proximity to downtown Mexico City, about 10km away. The airport is accessible by public transportation, including the metro and metrobus, as well as taxis, shuttles, and rental cars.  

Public Transportation

Public transportation alternatives, like the metro and metrobus, provide convenient and quick transportation to the airport from almost every part of the city. Keep in mind that the metro and metrobus can get quite crowded, especially during rush hour. If you have excess luggage then public transportation can be a troublesome alternative.

Taxi

Taxis are a more expensive option when compared to public transportation but they are more comfortable and convenient. Taxis fares are affordable in general and there are a large number of registered taxis throughout the city. We recommend getting a taxi from an authorized taxi stop just to be safe. You can also have the hotel you are staying at help arrange a taxi for you.

Airport Information

Located about 10 km from the city center, Mexico City International Airport, also known as Benito Juarez International Airport, is the busiest international airport in Mexico. Mexico City International Airport operates passenger services out of 2 terminals. The airport handled over 35 million passengers in 2015 and is Mexico’s busiest airport. There is an inter-terminal transportation system that connects both terminals. The Aerotren monorail system provides transportation between terminals for passengers who have a boarding pass. There are also inter-terminal buses that provide transportation between the terminals for all passengers and visitors. Keep in mind that the rail system is much faster than the bus.

Mexico City International Airport is a major international airport offering passengers a variety of services and amenities to meet their pre-flight and post-flight needs. The airport features basic services such as ATMs, currency exchange services, rental car services, lounges, health services, electric carts for the elderly or passengers in need, duty free shops, and postal services.

Mexico City International Airport also offers passengers a rich variety of stores where they can go shopping, including many duty free shops, clothing stores, gift shops, souvenir shops, shoe stores, and jewelry stores. The airport also contains a number of restaurants, cafes, and bars that feature delicious examples of international cuisine. It is quite easy to reach the city center from LA/Ontario International Airport. You can get on the bus for an affordable journey. If you prefer a more comfortable and fast means of transportation, you can choose from taxi, minivan and shuttle services. Please keep in mind that many hotels in Ontario provide shuttle services at the airport. In addition to these transfer alternatives, you can also rent a car at the airport.

Taxi

Once you pick up your luggage, you will see the taxi stops at the exit of the baggage claim area. A taximeter is available in all taxis. If you are traveling as a crowded group that cannot fit into a single taxi, you can also take advantage of door-to-door minivan services in the same area.

Rent a car

For the passengers who want to rent a car, airport shuttles depart regularly in front of the passenger terminal building to the car rental center (ConRAC) where there are offices of 10 different car rental companies. Once you rent a car, you can reach the city center in less than 10 minutes by driving through E Holt Boulevard.

Bus

After getting on bus number 61 departing from the bus stops in front of the terminal building, you should transfer to bus 80 on Holt. You can reach the city center in half an hour in total.

Hotel Shuttle Services

Many hotels and motels in the city offer airport shuttle services. If your hotel provides a shuttle service and if you would like to take advantage of this service, you are recommended to make a reservation at least 72 hours in advance.

Shuttle Service

Airport shuttle services depart from 3 different points of the airport. You can take the shuttle services departing every 5 to 20 minutes from the 5th floor of the airport car park, from the car rental center or in front of the passenger terminal depending on the crowdedness. All shuttles are wheelchair accessible vehicles.

Charter Bus / Minivan / Limousine

The passengers traveling as a crowded group and don't want to compromise on their comfort can enjoy comfortable transfer between the airport and the city center taking this exclusive service. Please keep in mind that you need to make a reservation in advance to take advantage of this service.
