Transportation to Mannheim City Center from Airport
Mannheim City Airport
Whichever transportation alternative you use to get to the city center from Mannheim Airport, it will take no longer than 10 minutes. There are a variety of ways to get to the city center from the airport including trains, which are very reasonably priced, buses, trams, taxis, and rental cars.
Train
There are regional suburban trains that provide direct transportation from Mannheim Airport to the city center. These trains leave the airport every 20 minutes and go directly to the main train station, which is located in an area very close to the city center. These regional trains are undoubtedly the fastest transportation alternative to get to the city center from the airport.
Bus
Once you exit Mannheim Airport there are several bus stops that are easily accessible. Almost all of the city buses that depart from these stops at the airport pass through the city center since the airport is located in such close proximity to the city center. Taking the bus is a much more economical alternative compared to other methods of public transportation.
Tram
There are also tram stops located near the bus stops at the exit of the Mannheim Airport terminal building. Tram lines 5 and 6 provide direct transportation from the airport to the city center. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the city center from Mannheim Airport by tram.

If you come across a taxi driver who doesn’t want to use the taximeter we would recommend trying to bargain for a more affordable fare.
Rental Car
Since Mannheim Airport is a regional airport, 80% of the rental car companies at the airport are local companies. Rental car rates at local companies are more affordable than the rates at well-known international rental car companies.
The fastest way to get to the city from the airport by car is to take one of the motorways (B38a, B37, A656), which will vary according to your destination in the city.
