About Arboletes
Arboletes means land of trees and is located in the north of Colombia on the Caribbean Sea. Arboletes is located in the Antioquia department and has been left behind in terms of tourism, unlike many other city towns in the area. It does however stand out with its agriculture and livestock production. Production areas occupy up ninety percent of the towns land. In the town, especially animals such as pigs, cattle, goats and horses, and agricultural products such as bananas, rice, corn, tropical fruits type products are produced.
Products produced in the region are transported to Panama City, where ferry services are arranged from Cartagena. There are a few streets that are named by two-digit numbers in Arboletes, with a population of around 35. The place is not a suitable town for tourism other than the beach which is called Las Palayas. Another attraction point of the town is the mud baths called “Mud Volcano”, which are suitable for swimming in during all 12 months of the year. It is said that the muds here are good for your bodies health and renew your skin. In the small town, there is also an airport. The airport is approximately 800 meters from the town center. There is no public transport other than taxis to transport from Arboletes Airport which is located on the beach.
