About Cabo Rojo
Cabo Rojo is a city located on the southwest coast of Puerto Rico, bordered by Hormigueros and Mayaguez to the north, the Caribbean Sea to the south, and the Mona Passage to the west. Playa Sucia is among the city’s most beautiful beaches. With its clear waters and white sands this beach is ideal for a relaxing day sitting on the rocks and enjoying the beautiful sunset vista. Another beach worth visit is the Playa Buye beach; it features a lot of hotels and also gets very crowded on the weekends.
The El Faro Los Morrillos is a lighthouse with magnificent views that is well worth the climb. Another historic place to visit in the city is the Tunel de Guaniquilla, a very long, historic tunnel. Coffee enthusiasts should head to Kiosco de Dulces Tipicoss, a café in the city that features delicious coffee. The city has a continental climate. The Cofresí Beach Hotel, Parador Boquemar, and Oasis Parador Hotel are located in or around Cabo Rojo’s center. The Rafael Hernández Airport is located 45-minutes from Cabo Rojo.
