About Garachine
Located in southeast Panama, in the Darien Province, Garachine is a city situated on the eastern part of the Gulf of Panama. According to the 2010 census the town had a population of about 1880 people. You can really enjoy nature in Garachine, which is covered with lush forests and plants, and relax on the beach in the coastal areas. The majority of the population in the city is made up of Mestizos, and the remainder is made up of primarily mulattoes, and indigenous Colombian Chocoanos.
The Garachine Airport is located in the north of the city, in an expansive area. The region has a tropical climate, with generally high temperatures and seasonal changes. The temperatures can start at 24 degrees in the morning and increase to 32 by the afternoon. The fact that the region has a tropical climate means it also has a rich variety of plants and trees. However, the region’s lush green areas are in danger due to the water shortage.
