About Lake Baringo

Lake Baringo, which is located in the north of Kenya, covers an area of 130 square kilometers and has a 970-meter altitude above sea level. Lake Baringo, which is fed by many rivers such as Molo, Perkerra and Ol Arabel, is one of the two freshwater lakes in the Rift Valley and the city is named after this lake.

The life in the city is centered around the lake, where more than 470 bird species survive. It is also possible come across the migrating flamingos. The rocks on the lake called Gibraltar can be used as a fishing port. The lake, which is fed by waters flowing through Mau and Tugen hills, is invaluable for freshwater fish.
