The public transportation in the city is provided by minibus but the people generally prefer using motorcycle or bicycle. Visitors are advised to use taxi for traveling in the city.
Tamale is a city under the influence of the tropical climate. The rainy season is experienced between April and October and the temperature is measured around 26-27 degrees. In the other period of the year, the precipitation decreases considerably and the temperature increases to 30 degrees.
There are many beautiful mosques in Tamale where the majority of the population is Muslim. On the other hand, local architecture and modern architecture are in touch with each other in the city. Anywhere in the city, you can coincide with the small neighborhoods comprising of old and cylindrical houses that look like a cabin.
You can join the safari tours in order to better know the wild life and closely see the wild African animals which we are used to watch in the documentary films. Paga Crocodile Pond and the slave camp near the pond are also worth seeing.
