Woodbridge, which is a small town in Suffolk, a historically picturesque city in England, is located on the banks of the River Deben. The foundation of the town dates back to 1100 years ago in history and it is famous for its historical and archaeological site called Satton Hoo located in the east of the River Deben. Satton Hoo, the most famous Anglo-Saxon city in England in the past, is home to the ancient settlement as well as the 80-meter 'Burial Ship'. When it was first discovered in 1939, the Burial Ship contained the coffin of Redwald, the King of Eastern Anglia and one of the strongest kings of England in the seventh century, and the treasures belonging to him. The archaeological findings that were unearthed at the end of the excavations in Satton Hoo are today exhibited at the British Museum and the Woodbridge Museum.

In the recent history, Woodbridge hit the headlines in the world with the Secret UFO Files. In the incidents that took place in 1980, official reports regarding the UFO activities observed in the region were presented to relevant ministries of the state. These reports soon leaked to the public and caused a great sensation. Woodbridge's other popular tourist attractions in addition to Satton Hoo are Woodbridge Tide Mill, Woodbridge Museum, Rendlesham Forest, Orford Ness National Nature Reserve, Easton Farm Park and Bentwaters Cold War Museum. Woodbridge, which is dominated by hot and temperate climate, receives significant precipitation throughout the year. Bentwaters St. Airport is located 10,6 kilometers northeast of the city.
