About Zaria
Located in Kaduna Province in the central northern part of Nigeria, the city of Zaria is located on the Kubanni River. The city, which is the center of the Zaria Emirate, has a population of about 663,000 people, according to the 2012 data. The region where the Hausa and Fulani peoples live and the Muslim schools are located consists of four main sections: Tudun, Wada, and Sabon Gari districts established during the colonial period, and the region where non-Africans live. The city, which is now used as a market place and has eight kilometers of old fortifications, is producing cotton, tobacco, peanuts, karite fruit and animal skin. In addition, there is also a trade of kokadari, millet, soybean, brown sugar, onion, pseudoacacia, baobab leaves and berries, cowpe walnut, sheep, and goats. Zaria is known as the training center of Nigeria. Ahmadu Bello University, the Agricultural Research and Special Services Institute and the Nigerian Leather Research Institute training centers.
