About Zlin
Located in the Zlin region, in southeastern Moravian in the Czech Republic, the city of Zlin has a population of about 75 thousand. Zlin is famous for its shoe-making factories, as it is the birthplace of the Bata Shoe Company, which developed before World War II. The architecturally interesting building still exists today. The Zlin Museum of Shoemaking is a museum dedicated to the city’s shoemaking history.
Things to do in the city include going for a nice walk, visiting the Museum of Southeastern Moravia, visiting the Zlin Lesna Zoo, which is the best Czech zoo, discovering the city’s architecturally interesting structures, and enjoying a boat tour on the Drevnice River, a tributary of the Morava River. The city generally features local delicacies and Moravian wine and distilled beers. The city’s most reputable hotels include Interhotel Moskva, Hotel Garni, and Hotel Ondras. Also consider visiting the Wallachian Open Air Museum and winetasting in the Slovacko region. Zlin also has excellent spa facilities.
