Zurich has a very well developed public transportation system within the city. This system also serves the airport, which is located 13 km from downtown Zurich. Train

Taking the train to the airport from the city center is very practical. Trains depart from the main railway station and get to the airport in about 12 minutes. Trains also run every 12 minutes.

The train provides transportation directly to the Airport Station, which is located on Level -2, next to the airport shopping center. Bus

The city is famous for its public transportation network and the bus network throughout the city is especially advanced and comprehensive. Taking a bus to the airport is another convenient transportation alternative. You can take a bus from the main railway station, which is easily accessible from every part of the city. Buses provide direct transportation to the Airport Centre. Buses are on time and reliable under normal circumstances; in case of snow there can be delays.

Tram

The city’s tram network is also very advanced. The tram network extends to most parts of the city but the lines surround the city center. Taxis are another convenient transportation alternative to get to the airport from the city center. However, taxis are more expensive when compared to public transportation options. Airport Information

Bus

Three different bus lines, the buses 601, 602 and 3M, allow you to reach the city center from the airport. You can take advantage of the buses, which depart every 30 minutes, at 06:01 at the earliest and at 01:25 at the latest. It takes about an hour from the airport to the city center by bus. In addition to these three bus lines run by the municipality, you can also prefer private buses which are more comfortable and safe.

Metro

The purple metro line provides transportation to the city center from Francisco Sa Carneiro Airport. Metro services start at 05:58 and go on until 00:36 and it is possible to get to the city center from the airport in about half an hour. You can buy a ticket at the station in order to get on the metro, which departs every five minutes. If you get off the metro, which serves between the airport and Estadio do Dragao, at the Trindade station, you can reach the city center.

Transfer Vehicle
