Samana, which is a province in the Dominican Republic, is located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. In the province, which is known for its mountains surrounding almost the whole province, about 140 thousand people live. Having countless beaches, Samana is one of the most important tourist destinations of the Dominican Republic. There are three airports in the province. These are El Portillo Airport, Arroyo Barril International Airport and Samana El Catey International Airport. The province has also Cayo Levantado port.

In Samana, where tropical marine climate is observed, annual average temperature is measured around 25 degrees. At high altitudes, the temperature is 18 degrees, and in the regions at sea level it reaches 28 degrees.
